Front seat belts.

The car originally had belts only in the front, and these were TWO-point diagonal - not a safe option for modern use. The top photo shows my friend Ian Broscombe carefully welding in suitable belt mountings.

I decided that mounting the inertia reels to the base of the B pillar would be much stronger (and neater) than the usual position on top of the chassis panel which, although it has a vertical member below, is only made of flat sheet steel. The lap belt mounting is very near the top corner of the chassis where it has high strength. And the two central mountings (between the seats) now share a large spreader plate underneath the floor.
