Dashboard restoration.

Once I had decided what was going where (and drilled all the necessary extra holes) I had the upper panels painted Aubergine (to match the roof) and the lower panels Absinth (main body colour).

With the aliminium trim polished and all the switchgear cleaned and tested, I was ready(?) to start reassembly.

You can just see the hazard warning switch mounted in the extra large hole drilled in the lower panel of the steering column binacle (underneath). It just fits in here (space behind) and is fairly easy for the driver to press in an emergency (as long as he knows where it is). Being a modern switch, I didn't want to put it in the main panel.

The flasher unit has since been changed for a modern unit capable of dealing with hazard lights and trailer lights.

Another mod I plan in the future is a flash or intermittant wipe (the rotary wiper switch doesn't make for an easy quick wipe of the screen).
