Dashboard restoration.

Reassembly had to be fairly methodical. I added a custom embossed aluminium panel in the upper dash and a brown vinyl section on top of the steering column housing (both of which were originally black vinyl). And I polished the stainless steel strip which now divides Aubergine from Absinth.

The inside of the (stained) glove box was painted, and with some difficulty I covered the dash top and the side sections in the same wacky brown vinyl as several other areas - so there is now a cohesion to the whole interior.

I event bought a new rubber section for the gear lever housing - but after some use this is now looking tatty again - because of course this type of dashboard was never designed to cope with the 5th speed on a 5 speed gearbox . . .
