Dashboard restoration (too much detail?).

Re-covering the dashboard top panel in the wacky brown vinyl was very time consuming.

Because the new material is backed with 5mm of foam + woven scrim, I realised I would have to cut back the edges of the existing molded-on vinyl/foam to stop it bunching up at the edges (and where the screen vents attach, as shown in the top photo).

I also cut back the edges of the backing on the new vinyl which was to be glued to the top steering column panel. This was to allow me to glue some thin grey rubber 'U' section around the edge as a finisher. Sadly, because the grey rubber is silicon the glue doesn't stick to it and it falls off now and again . . .
