IDdoorcardpocketdetail

Generally speaking I was very pleased with the finished door cards - this shows the level of detail at the juction between the door pockets and the arm rest panels on the front cards.

I pre-made the holes in the grey vinyl for the tabs on the back of the aluminium trims (which I gave a brushed finish rather than polishing). The plastic backing cards were supplied with all holes pre-drilled.

Worth noting is the fact that all operations had to be very accurately undertaken to get a good result: cutting and drilling of the aluminium arm rest panels, cutting and gluing on of the self adhesive foam sheet and the cloth, etc.. Some aspects were very fiddly (I could have done with 3 pairs of hands!)

Even fitting the mounting clips into the (pre-drilled) holes in the main panel took ages - much cutting-back of cloth wrap-around, filing out of holes etc. I used plastic sockets in the door casings to make the clips fit tightly (and avoid chipping paint). But there are still one or two of the clips which won't stay in properly.
