DSettee - a DStraction . . . The only part of the brown leather Pallas interior which was fitted to the car when purchased which was reasonably good condition was the rear seat. I designed a clever frame for it using steel tube and tension rods, which Ian Broscombe fabricated in his workshop in Sowerby Bridge. It turned out to be very comfortable. I call it a "settee" rather than a sofa because it is fairly compact and not too low (easier for older people to get up from than most sofas). I sold the early Pallas front seats (very worn and cracked) for rebuilding, and carefully dismantled the matching door cards - these were so distorted and brittle they were beyond use except for some trim parts. | ||
