I have been conscious for some time that driving conditions have changed beyond all recognition since this car was made in the '60s.

In an effort to make it as useable (and safe) as possible I decided to modify the front seat frames to take head restraints - these now being vital for motorway driving.

Having had the experience of using Ford Sierra seats previously (in an Ami 8), I cut the top off the Ford seat frame and, with help from ace welder Ian Broscombe, attached this to the top of the DS seat backs - thus giving mountings for the Sierra head restraints (which are a nice simple shape and have a useful for and aft 'rocking' adjustment).

About 100mm was added to the height of the seat backs, and the headrests are at just the right height to be both safe and comfortable.

When the seats were re-covered, the trimmer added shaped foam rubber around the new top section, but re-used all the lower foam.
