Dyane 4x4 bodyshell - sand blasted and epoxy primed

It is very satisfying to know that the shell preparation was as thorough as possible.

This shot shows all the areas of the shell modified for the 4x4 conversion - tunnel, boot floor etc..

Before sandblasting I had replaced the rear boot floor (to the right of the picture) with thicker flat steel sheet, as what remained of the original was getting a bit thin in places.

The 20mm square sill reinforcing tubes can be seen, welded to the outside of the sills. As well as providing extra strength, these also protect the underside of the doors from road dirt thrown up by the front wheels.
