It is not necessary to have a car to stay here. We are happy to collect you from local Bus and Train Stations on arrival, and there are good public transport links. Local buses stop right outside the neighbouring mill building, and the nearest railway station is only a couple of miles away in Mytholmroyd. Even day out in York is easy on the train. Of course, if you enjoy walking, we have some of the best hill and lane walking in the country right here on our doorstep.

Within a short distance by car, bus or train, you will find a wealth of attractions and entertainment in the area, as well as good eating. Below we have listed a few which we have enjoyed ourselves, along with a note of roughly how long it takes to get there. We will add to these lists over time. We try to keep the apartment stocked with up to date leaflets to browse through.

Please don't be afraid to ask our advice on best routes, seasonal opening times, or anything else to save time which you would rather spend enjoying yourselves while you are here.

Although there are local swimming pools in Halifax, Todmorden and Sowerby Bridge, if you have half a day to spare, the picturesque car trip (via the pretty village of Heptonstall) over the Pennines to Pendle Wavelengths in Nelson is very worthwhile. It is a modern pool with central spiral shute and a wave machine, and you can sip coffee poolside if you don't want to go in the water. But don't rely on the Cafe for decent food . . .

They will deliver.
